Designer Statement

Design is a war, a never-ending battle between the forces of beautiful and hideous. I appreciate design immensely, the art of communicating with little or no words necessary. I loathe reading; my brain processes words as it does calculus. My eyes and my hands are my tools, my gateway to infinite possibilities of displaying information.

Design is a pain in the ass, a profession where you’re guaranteed to fall, and getting up again is routine. So why do I design? It’s that search for that feeling, that gratification when someone sees your design and appreciates it. All that hard work, stress, and constant editing making that final piece worthwhile.  The ability to have your work help enhance the lives of others makes it worth it. Design encompasses so many lines of work, in a world that is constantly changing. Where your education doesn’t end when you graduate from school, but is the mere beginning of a lifelong learning cycle.

Design is power, and with great power comes great responsibility.
